New Paint Job
« on: July 11, 2005, 07:40:53 PM »
This goes along one of the posts about long or short course by changing classes. Last year we sported a new paint job on the bike. Same bike we have been running since 97. Bike has records in the 240's. When we showed up in inspection because we did not have the 175 sticker they said we were required to requalify on short course at 175.

So question is since the other rule was changed will we have to do the same again this year since new paint has again gone on this year???? and we no longer have the 175 mph sticker?????

While everybody is watching, nobody is paying attention.
I wonder how many vehicles never had one to start with ?

You would think someone could easily take a peak at your log book and see it has already qualified over 175 MPH! Is'nt that one of the reasons we have log books?

I guess I should have paid more attention.

I passed a lakester on the course once with My street bike. I guess I should have looked for his 175 sticker, I know I had mine.

We thought that too, but the answer was "have you run 175 at this meet?" well no it was friday inspection day.

Just want clarification.

The Burkland car is a streamliner and exempt.
The crazy part under the ruling you describe would have everyone make the first pass on the short course and nobody but liners on the long course.

A couple of years ago, when we were still contemplating the new paint job -- I requested and received a "spare" 175 sticker for my bike.  I knew the old one wouldn't survive being removed from old bodywork.  I got it at the registration trailer during an event - by showing a timing slip where I exceeded the 175 in the quarter.  The timing slip, of course, showed my bike number -- and that was all there was to it.

Of course, maybe I'm a little more anal-retentive than the next racer -- but I had the sticker when I needed it.
