Liquid to air intercooler tank.....how big does it need to be?

If making 450 hp with 1300cc on the long, how many gallons worth of ice is needed.
Worried about going too small.

How big is your holding tank?  We use around 4 to 5 large bags of ice per run.  We hold around 20 gallons  of water. :cheers:

I am able to fit a 12 gallon cooler.....

If that wont be enough I will have to go up front.

You could use math and figure out just how much you need (boost, comp eff, IC eff, etc), but how about just use as big as you can comfortably swing? Not much cost to going too large.

i think you need to stick the tank up front anyhow..... not sure of your weight balance but ya ought to toss as much up front as you can...

Up front to compensate for driver weight?  Your inter cooler must weigh a good amount as well.  I guess it would matter most if you were traction limited, if so put it in the back. :cheers:

   I think 12 gal would be plenty, if to big you don't have to fill it but if to small then your hurtin.

 Yea it would depend on the cfm of blower and temp that needs to be cooled in jonny's case the cfm is probably not a lot in the 222 camaro at one time we were cooling 5600 cfm at a temp of 375 degrees

yep...he gave us the cfm via the hp......and efficiency
via particular turbo....and the temp via the boost number....

im only speaking from experience....with that cfm....and
that turbo efficiency....and that boost range...(+/- a couple cfm, a fraction
of a percent eff, and a lb or so boost)............

course that also assumes....x amt heat transfer eff of intercooler.....

want the air that cool......so warm water and around
60-100 degree air ok.....
