No diesel entries that I've seen so far, by the way.  I'll keep looking.

Well the runs started late, but the crew did a great job getting a bunch of bikes and cars down the track.

My second run today proved to be my last for the weekend,, the lil ole Vicky took off like a Bat out of "Harley".. Nice and hard launch, good shifts (right in time with my shift light) , about 500 feet before the finish she stumbled and nosed down, 1 MPH short of the  147.xx record,,,, got back at the pits and I knew something was wrong.

To my rescue came the the Zainfeld crew,,, looks like I lost at least #5 and #7 pistons... Hope not more...(not my precious heads).. well we winched in the trailer and I am at home now, head hung low,, but we will be back in May.....THANKS guys for your help !!!

Ya know,, blowing up would not have been quite so bad , if only it would have went just 1 mph faster to get the record,,
oh well there is always next month.

Be safe, have fun and go fast tomorrow.

Slim, you have rewarded me. THANKS for the 3 shots of Scott and Ellen and their foto.

It had value after 35 years.

Also Thanks to Todd and Deb for delivering it.

Cajun, sorry you biffed with Vickey.

Okay, folks -- we've got a paradigm shift!  Two motorcycles were stolen last night here at Maxton.  One of 'em from a trailer at one of the Hotels in town -- one here at the track.  The theives cut locks and got in the trailer here -- got in a second trailer but the bike was locked in the trailer, so the bad guys gave up.

So -- new story, everyone.  While there are folks here all night -- there is no guaranteed security.  Lock your trailers, lock your pit bikes, lock your stuff in your locked trailer.

DODGE PLYMOUTH SUBARU!

I'll get some details of the 750 GSXR that got taken and post 'em.  It was a street/track bike with 3100 miles -- move details later.

Back to racing.  No ambulance yet, but the staging line is building and there's no wind -- I'm gonna suit up and get in line.

I thought blowing a motor (within 1mph of the record)sucked,  but I feel much worse for the 2 racers who's bikes got stole.. That is a crap deal..

That is plain bad and we sure can't blame the economy for bad people doing bad things..

I hope the rest of you have a safe, fun and fast day..

Safe travels home for you all.

Larry, I think it's not really good news.  I didn't hear the bike number as he left the line, but it sure looked like Mark going past.  He went through the lights at 219 but with motor parts here and there.  We're on hold while the kitty-litter shuffle gets going again.

Ford GT40 went 198, Steve Benyo and the Mustang went 226, Todd Dross scooted through at 215, I think it was.  Remember, run logs will be up within 24 hours from now, I am told.

I put a new batch of photos on the photobucket site, including one of Ed Safarik taking a photo.  Gotta give the guy some face time -- he's usually only adding things to the SCTA site and deserves to be seen.

Here's the photobucket link again:

Terry,

Tell Lawson congrats on the 191MPH,,, great job.

Hope my motor damage was limited to just those two pistons.. any major expense could slow down the Stude build..

See you in May.

Here's some stuff:  First of all, Dean Sabatinelli went 223 on his blown GSXR 1000.  FAST!  He's still running, too -- maybe there's a little bit more.

I managed a 196.8 on the 193.8 record on the 191.5 from last year, so I'm a happy guy.  Other good news:

A bout 50 new bike records 55.263 for Chris Koninsky to three 228 recordfs for Steve Knecum.  Three records, not just one -- all at 228.  Hmmm, that's consistency.

The car record book is in use right nww -- Joel Walcott got a record and is getting it registered right now.  Joel went 112 in GMMP -- he's pleased.  It looks like about 38 records in the four-wheel sector.

Remember that the run logs will be up soon -- maybe tonight, if Deb and Donna and Tonya get a break in the other action.

We've got one more hour to run today -- but the wind is picking up quite a bit.  Glad I've put the bike into the trailer.

Dean went 223.  Decent.  Anybody other than Joe Amo go faster on a blown 1000?

Great news for Dean, 223 is flying and last time I saw Deans bike it was a ZX-10 not a GSXR 1000

Was that naked or with bodywork, if it was naked then Dean is now the fastest Naked 1000 cc bike anywhere!!

Congrats to all..even them ZX-14 riders.. :-D

Okay, John, you got me.  Dean's bike is a ZX-10R, and his runs improved, too.  His best was a 225.  He was running a nose piece from another 10R, but just the nose.  After that 223 he was going to quit for the day before being "talked to" by Scott Guthrie and a few others - who all asked him why the heck he was quitting after all of those good runs.  Try one more, Dean -- and he's glad he did.

As for the ZX14R folks -- hey, one guy licensed up to a "B" this weekend, and another guy set a record Saturday running 193.8 on the 191.5 existing record.  Then that same guy added a couple of additional MPHs Sunday with a fun run of 196.8.  We put it into the trailer after that -- but it was fun for sure, for sure.

One car guy got into the Green Hat club with that 200.0000, and a bike guy in the club -- but he didn't tell us his speed.  We'll have to wait for the run logs later on.  Deb was still packing the trailer when we left the track at about 5.45PM.

It was a great turnout, although not as many cars for the Hot Rod event as we have usually had.  Frieburger was all over the place, even shooting at the 2 Club induction ceremonies.  I wonder if he'll photoshop out the bike Club members from the shot that he puts in the magazine. Nah, he wouldn't do that.  Keep your eyes open for the August issue (he said it'll be in that one).

Bumpy US 220 here, just south of Asheville, NC -- so I'll sign off for now.
