Lay Down seat HANS Device?
« on: January 17, 2009, 03:41:52 PM »
I would like to see a list of streamliner/lakesters that have very lay down seats and what they are going to use for a HANS type device. My seat is 68 degrees. My helmet is already jammed between the headrest and my chest so I can not see where a HANS will help and only be in the way. If SCTA passes the rule then I will have to fit something into the car.

How old would you be now if you didn't know how old you are?
If you can't race it or take it to bed - it ain't worth having.

I use an R3 device in my belly tank.  This doesn't have the "wing" behind your helmet as the HANS has.  I tried the HANS and couldn't get it past my rollbar to get out.  The R3 goes down your back and has a pad for it to fit into that raises you up about 1/2 to 3/4 inch.  It works great for me but did take practice to get out in a timely manner.

For those who may not be aware of it, there's a page on my site where I have added links to every manufacturer that I have found that makes a racing neck restraint device. Here it is: http://www.roadsters.com/safety/
