When using an SFI 6.1 bellhousing to meet the requirements of SCTA rules 3.0, is it required to run a block plate between the bellhousing and the engine block? TIA, vic

Even if it isn`t, They are cheap compared to engine blocks. J.B.

I ran my 460 Ford without one. Didn't really like doing that much and don't think I will again if I have any choice. My Packard has a home made externial shield so it has no block plate. it's an extended bellhousing engine anyway. No way for a block plate.

Thanks for the responses. I just found this: " Block plate must be used to meet S.F.I. safety requirements" in a not-too-prominent spot in the Lakewood catalog. vic
