Of course. How are you going to state what the vehicle year is in the log book? Do you claim a '64 body with '53 fenders?

Had a guy lose a record when it was found out that the engine claimed to be production had stopped being offered the year before his car was built.

You will also need to change the doors.  The 53 - 55's have scallops while the 56-61 Hawks don't.  So if you have a 53 or 54 front, doors and trunk, remove the fins, install 53 or 54 tail lights you will have a body that is identical to the 53 or 54.  The chasis is the same except for material thickness and a couple of cross members.
