Great pictures of a VERY fast car -even today!

Look in the dictionary under CLASS  and you'll find Art Chrisman.

Harry Duncan shouldn't be ignored by our history , both Lakes and Drags.

He partnered up with some fast people,  Chrisman and Ed Losinski for example, and had fast equipment of his own (especially the highboy  roadster). The word CLASS applied to him also.

Glad to see the Duncan bloodline has carried on to R&RRatFink's generation!

And I wonder if there aren't a few Long Beach/Lakewood Ca. area Landracers that might be living today in a Duncan-Built home?

Hey IB, I knew them all and went to Art and Lloyd's shop in Compton many times, Jack lived in North Long Beach and was building rear ends for years. As to Harry Duncan he was a neat person and racer. He had a TEE coupe that he ran at the drags and on one run the fabric top blew off the top and left cotton everywhere. Another the driver thru out a wooded leg thru the no open top. It was never dull around that bunch. When he and Frank Cannon were teamed up there was more BS going on then, then the sides could take from laughing. Great era of racing. I was at Art's shop a few months ago and yeah he still looks 35.

Here is a pic of Ermie's last turbine car that the Fergusons now have. As all of Ermie's cars were, beautiful!

yes!

and no.

having been in the "redhead family of drivers" for most of the car's existence i really love that look; the classic mid-20th century streamlining; bubbled-fender pods; sweeping lines; the visual scream that says: golden age of lsr.

but, now that we are in the 21st century - and really going fast - i think the buckeye bullet and the mormon missile have "the look".

i don't really care too much for the look of the miles streamliner, but it sure seems to work!
