Were these pictures taken in the old "Enola Gay" hanger at Wendover Field?

I would say yes on the hanger, it's the largwes on the air field, many others have used it as well over the years.

I believe the hanger we see is one of the multiple white wood mid size hangers facing south as used in different movies including Bird of Prey where they flew the chopper inside. The Enola Gay hanger faces east and has always been much darker inside.

Yes, looking at the early pictures posted by Streamliner, you can see the three rows of windows of the south facing hangars clearly behind where Summers is standing.

Absolutely right!  Here's Goldenrod's trailer getting ready...

Here's an image of the museum building taken from the oppposite direction, Goldenrod was in the hangar on the left:

So Goldenrod was the first hangar and Enola Gay was at the opposite end of the airfield:

Thanks everyone for the pictures. The Goldenrod was truly ahead of it's time. Or maybe a time maker.

O.K. now, where did the 'before it's time' Goldenrod trailer end up? Today, ninety percent of the racers come to the salt so equipped. It looks like you could put a gross of horse's inside and it has truck size wheels way far in back. I wonder what the tongue weight was? Too bad the trailer did not stay with the car!

Thanks for posting the great photos of Goldenrod - fantastic shots, truly capturing history!

I'm aware of the car's success in 1965, but can someone fill me in on more of the car's history?  Did the streamliner race at Bonneville in events prior to 1965, or after?

Also, did the Summers Brothers compete on the salt with cars other than Goldenrod?

Keep the photos and information coming - great stuff!   Thanks!
