This will be 2 posts of the Goldenrod. I am leaving the image size as large as practical and close to the maximum quality.

Like the quality?

This image is large. Drag to full screen.

Bret Kepner did these, hand held, at the Ford Museum a month ago with an aging digital point and shoot. His experience shooting

at the drag races carried over to these images.  Check his website. His night fotos are blow away.

THANX Kepner.

Return now with us to those days of yesteryear..............

A preserved jewel.

Thanks, Kepner.

Mike Cook and his shop did the restoration of the streamliner. They took hundreds of pictures of the rebuild. It sat out in front of the NHRA for several years unprotected from the weather before Cook took it over. It has a great home now. Anyone in the Detroit area should visit the Ford/Edison museum to see what a great part of LSR history it is. The Summers were way ahead of others in the design and garage home built cars of that era.

I couldn't shoot that same shot with your equipment, he is a true artist!

A few pictures I took during the early part of the restoration by former Hot Rod editor & 200 MPH club member John Baechtel.

It's hard to tell these pics are 40 years apart.  Same metal, same paint, same passion, just different names...
