There are hints of a '29 Ford cowl on that one.  Must be a modified modified roadster.

I have heard the builder of this fast Corvair now lives in Minden, Nevada. 62-64

  He may have moved to Oregon, I have been to his house an was very impressed with a copper water jacketed corvair motor sitting in the corner of his garage. He said 450hp (Tom) last name starst with a K but i forget how to pronounce it. :?

The #120 is Jim Culberts D/Lakester and the coupe is Don Minards Comp.coupe. Both out of San Diego. The lakester ran 195.mph, still looking for speed on the coupe.

Looks like he took an old Indy racer and made a lakester out of it?

Culbert was the owner of CAE in San Diego and built lakes roadsters but the big part of the business was sprint cars and parts for them. Culbert was one of the first cars to go over 200 mph at the dry lakes. I heard he built over 400 sprint car frames.

Culbert was one of the main sprint car builders in California at that time.
