High School Hudson Project from Everett WA

The first time I heard about this was around 1991 when William (standing 4th from the right)  and I worked a the same aerospace company. I can't remember Bill's last name.   What year did they run the Hudson?  Did they set a record, like fastest car with 4 High School students on board? :-)
Since they set a precedence for a HS at Bonneville there is hope for something other than Eco Cars in the future. :-D

Here are two comp coupes. I took these pictures ~1987 or 88 I think.

I just had lunch today at the 200 mph club BBQ with Tom Bryant who's' original pearson Bros. coupe is shown first. Turns out Jim Travis was there too and his is the second coupe shown here.

Here are a few more misc shots of cars we remember running.

Some day I need to get one of those thing-a-ma-gigs that will let me scan slides. Almost all of my stuff from the late 70's to the early 80's is on slides.  :-(

Okay, switching gears a bit. These are lousey overexposed shorts from El Mirage ~ 1982.

Rodger Gate & Bill Ward ran this turbocharged streamliner on the dirt to speeds of 275 mph, on gasoline!  :-o

Scotty's '34 was just oh so bitchen.  8-)

The last car is the Stringfellow-Miller-Lee car. It ran as both a lakester & a streamliner.
Sadly Dick Miller lost his life in a top end crash in this car. Miss you Dick. :-(

Interesting you would post a pic of the Stringfellow/Miller and Lee car, I was there that day, and , while at Bruce Geislers today, I asked about the bent spindle mount Centerline wheel leaning against the wall....one of the front wheels from that same car. Bruce and Dick were good friends....

I know this is a long shot, but I was re-reading Don Montgomery's latest book - "old Hot Rod Scrapbook" - when I rediscovered Gene Hewitt's 32 roadster from B'ville 1950.

What makes this car unique is that it has a 12 port Chev 6 in the engine bay :)

I was wondering if anyone has any other pictures of it ...... its burning me up not seeing the car from the front :(
