Regarding Bob Braverman,...... Bob also roadraced sidecars in the mid 1970's with his son Mike as passenger.......He took the outfit to Bonneville and ran 125mph. with wife Barbara as passenger.....the sidecar chassis was build by Doug Bingham of Side-Strider in Van Nuys CA. and the outfit was powered by a very fast Kawa. 750c.c. two-stroke triple.........Bob's son Mike, just resently found the sidecar outfit and is planning to restore it to it's old glory..........In one of the early copies of Cycle Guide, Bob did a great story of our BSA A-65 roadracing sidecar..the first sidecar in N.America to use small 12inch wheels instead of the 16inch spoke wheels that were used at that point in time.  Bob was a great supporter of all types of sidecar racing and helped move the sport forward in N.America.......................................
Bob,

Is that sidecar Yellow and has a wing on it?

If so I have the engine from it..

I would be shootin in the dark with a guess on the year of that photo.  But I have to say that I just flew through an hr. reading and checking out these great old shots of Bonneville. Thanks everyone for the great pictures and commentaries.  Is there more to come ?
This gave me my daily dose of inspiration.

I suppose I might as well consider moving the old photos to the Photogallery on this site.  It'll be a major project since I'd want to put the identifying commentary there with 'em.

But -- since we've got all the time in the world - SpeedWeek starts 100 days from tomorrow morning - would one of youse guys like the job?  It'd require you to go through this thread and copy to photos into the Old Photos/History/Nostalgia section of the gallery.  Wanna do it, someone?  Let me know and I'll fill you in with whatcha need to know.

By the way -- there are 22 photos there as of now.  We can do better than that, right?

I would like more info on the little yellow 555 I Streamliner, perhaps a photo without skin, showing the cockpit, thank you.

I am familiar with the Ball Point Banana and I NEVER saw the skin off of it.

It wasn't a car that garnered much attention because it never did anything except arrive.

All these great pictures and info got me goin.  Spoke with Warner the other day and pulled a little more history out of him. The picture on page 9 by the honorable Mr.Stainless of the Tramp II  has George Smith on the left, Dan Kinsey on the right and possably Floyd Baker in center-RIP- Shortly after that the bike  with a new fairing did 226 and 239 on a one way, and broke Warner's record in 1992.
The picture on page 15 by the venerable Dr. Freud of the 3 Harleys - Leo Paynes ran fuel w/ Stock Chassis - Cook ran fuel w/ Altered Frame -
and Warner's ran gas w/ Stock Frame.  The cool thing was all three set records that year.

Great thread - thanks for keeping it going. Being a Midwest Chicago teenager back in the early 60's the closest we'd ever get to Bonneville is reading and seeing pictures in the Hot Rod mags. I had a paper route and sold icecream out of one of those bicycle icecream carts so I had a few sheckles in my pocket to be able to buy the mags, and oh yes the plastic model car kits which I'd cut up and combine parts of different kits and fantasize about hot roddin. Then came the drivers license - oh the rest is history -
