Rules for partial streamlining on motorcycles
« on: September 13, 2004, 08:09:00 PM »
I've been involved in LSR racing since '93 as a team/crew member on two record cars and now want to do something on my own. Go-fast costs being what they are, I'm limited to a motorcycle budget.

I plan to run in 650 M-PG, M-PF, MPS-PG, and MPS-PF with the same bike. The SCTA R&R book is clear on everything but the extent of bodywork permitted in PS classes.

Photos or illustrations of the extent of partial streamlining allowed would be greatly appreciated. Basic questions I have deal with physical limits relative to axles and wheels.

TIA for any and all help and guidance.

Post your questions individually and I will answer then. Pretty straight forward as the rule book states. You post I will answer.

Hi Mike,

I'm new to this too, it was helpful to me to look
through the photo archives to get a general idea
of the rules. They did tweek the rules on the
front fairing position for 2004, so the old photos
may not help in that regard. I also made a little
diagram to help me visualize the wording in the
 rulebook.

 Cheers,

 Dave

Jonathan -- First question: Is a covered front wheel (to the extent permitted in the rules for modified classes) permitted in unstreamlined class?

Second question: What is the extent of side skirting for the rear fender, relative to the axle in unstreamlined class?

 TIA for your answers.
