There was a little rain on the salt the weekend before the private Cook/Top 1 meet. Just made for a better course by Wednesday.  The long range forecast for Salt Lake talks about snow down to the 7200 foot level on Sunday but that's in mountains 120 miles from the salt.  It's supposed to warm to the low seventies by Tuesday, that's acording to the same forecasts.  We usually don't get soaking rains or thunder storms this time of year so I'm expecting the salt to be fine by Wednesday.  I'm bringing a warm coat for those mornings in the low forties though.

Well, if my new three grand turbo 400 (courtesy of the local robber baron trany guy in Baker City, Or.)holds up, I will have the Old Stud Stude there, and loaded for bear.  If I don't make it, I will have to answer to Treit, and about thirty friends from Oregon.................Bob

Thanx Glen.  Just looked at the ten day forcast on Accuweather.com, and other than a few showers on Saturday, it looks real good except for the 35 degree weather.  For once, I may not compain about my nomex underwear and SFI 20 fire suit.  I may just wear it all the time................. :-D

Ok it's official, you're stuck with Todd for one more meet. I'm not responsible for him while he's out there!  :-D That is now officially Stainless1's job! If the weather is less then desirable you are still stuck with him! I don't want him back until next Sunday night!

Deb, Todd PM'ed me and wants me to remind you to choose carefully the guy that'll mow the lawn and do whatever other house-y chores you need doing.

I'm pleased as punch that he's heading out there -- it's been a long time since we've had the pleasure of seeing him on the Salt, and it'll be nice to renew the old relationship.  I presume that Stainless has all of the details under control -- but just in case, let us know/have Todd call us if there's something he needs.  We're flying -- but'll be at the Econo Lodge where the wi-fi works pretty well, no matter what Ray says.

I have looked at 3 different weather reports for NW Utah and all 3 are different. Even the Regular weather news doesn't agree with the others. The official word comes from SCTA on their web site. They will be there tomorrow to start set up, dragging etc.

I'm ignoring all other forecast and going with accuweather.com. I like their forecast the best.

I have stood out on the salt many times and watched it rain five miles away and not felt a drop.  I have been there a few times when we got rained out for a day.  Have faith brothers and sisters and take your Hawaiian shirts, flip flops and sun tan lotion...and warm clothes, just in case.
Slim, all negative weather reports are hereby banned until Oct 12th.................Bob

It hit all of 49 degrees here today, and the rain we've been getting for most of the past four days hasn't let up -- except for maybe...  Nancy says that yesterday, while she was at a local restaurant, one of the staff came up and said "Did you see the snowflakes during that last rainstorm?"

In other news, the colors are turning to their fall state -- but we're at only about 25% of peak color now.  Oughta be stunning when we get back from WF.

There's always reason for concern about the weather.  But we always hope for the best, as we head out Monday morning.  See ya all on the salt.

At WOS, I had to stop at the parts store at 7:00 AM, and I mentioned to the owner as he searched for my part, "I heard that there was a 30 % chance of rain today". He returded to the counter, and said, "When you go out, look around. Do you see any trees? This is a desert. It ain't goin to rain. We only get about 2.5 inches a year. Have a great weekend." Nuf Said. Sorry the SaltCat won't be there 'til next year. :-D
I keep going faster and faster and I don't know why. All I have to do is live and die.
