Done, and done already, Mike!
I never saw it in action, but in magazines & on TV it looked terrific. I built the model of it several times when I was a kid, and always thought it was the most awesome of gassers.

Once I found landracing.com I was even more pleased to know that you were the progeny of "Cookie" Cook. Nice to know you have hot rodding history in your genes.

Another vote cast.  :-)  I grew up near Capitol Raceway and used to listen to the cars in the evening when the bustle of the day went away and the quiet settled in suddenly broken by a burnout and then the run the through the gears down the strip.  Music to the ears of a teenager who's license was still years away.

I remember a 37 Chevy at Colton and a 41(?) Studebaker Champion later.

Just voted, too.  Helped you guys change an engine at Bonneville in maybe 72 or 3.  Quite an honor for me.

Got my vote (Lefty's not listed).

:-D EVERYONE  :-D thank you from the bottom of my heart this is so cool, to sit here and read the post of where you watched grandpa run, where you met him ,and even got a chance to help him. grandpa did run a 37 chevy in the late 50 early 60 he was pertty successful with it he won the nationals in 59. ran a few times on the dry lakes before teaming up wit Fred stone and leanerd woods with the 41 Willy's. and i think we all now they did pertty well with that car. as the gassers were slowly geeting  replaced by the funnycars  they decided to build a 65 mustang which again they were real successful with. the 41 Willy's sits the way grandpa ran it in the nhra museum the 37 chevy sits the way it was in our garage. for the mustang nothing was left after the big crash in alton ill. but dad plans to start watering the floor in the shop in hope to have it ready to cackle at the march meet in Bakersfield. thank you again . 8-)
