ackerman steering
« on: May 13, 2005, 01:15:00 AM »
I was just starting to make the outer steering arms that connect the tie rod to the spindles and when I started to locate the outer rod end to be in line with the king pin and the center of the rear wheel tread, the thought that maybe, I didn't know what I was doing!

Is there a reason that I shouldn't have Ackerman effect on a land speed car? Does it make much difference with a 168" w.b.?

Any information will be appreciated. Thank you.

hitz,
Sounds like you are moving in the right direction to obtain Ackerman but I really don't think on a B'ville car, especially one with a narrow tread and a long wheelbase it would make much difference except maybe turning it around in the pits, but since you've already started why not make it with ackerman?

 Just my take on it.
