Jocko and Joanie Johnson called me yesterday about this streamliner on eBay. I have a bunch of photos taken during the construction of the "liner by Jocko but don't know how, or if they can be loaded to this forum discussion.  Jocko began building this 'liner at his shop in Capistrano Beach and almost finished it at his new shop in Twentynine Palms before it was taken away on Easter Sunday 1988 by George Cromer. Jocko and I are working up a full report, but the core of the story -- according to Jocko --  is that although Cromer paid for most of the parts, he simply ran off with the car and never paid Jocko for any of his labor.

That sucks. I think eBay may be helpful in identifying the seller, and perhaps some compensation could be found for Mr Johnson.

It's got two rear wheels mounted in a configuration that forms a trapezoid.

"Two separate 17" aluminum rims with 2.0 x 2.5 x 17 inch Goodyear racing tires mounted in "siamese" fashion directly next to each other on heavy duty bearing mounted axle (technically qualifying as a four wheeled entrant?). Suspended by four link type system with coilover shocks and with what appears to be a small air suspension diaphram at rear of frame for adjustment. Overall wheelbase is 146" inches, length of Streamliner is approximately 14' feet. As an historical note, this Streamliner was intended to be powered by a Charles "Kong" Jackson prepared flathead with the intake and exhaust ports reversed."

Right now I'm looking for a good machinist who can take a piece of 4 inch diameter 4.25 inch long titanium billet and turn it into a pair of tireless wheels machined and drilled to accept kart hubs and spindles. Any recommendations?

Call Red Devil Brakes.  They make titanium rotors for racing applications and he has a full machine shop their.  He has made one off parts for me before and making perfectly balanced wheels should be a easy job for them. www.reddevilbrakes.com  724.696.3744

Somebody would have to check to see how long it's record stayed on the books

Franklin, did you even read the auction page text?

I believe if you go back and read FRs post he is clearly speaking of the Summers Bros. Polywog 'liner in the bit you picked out.

I quote the auction page text above.

Doesn't matter that it's never run. It's got four wheels.
