We need to know more about the CAR in able to help you.

Body modifications?  Wing?  Engine setback?

The engine will be classified mainly on displacement, excpt in Vintage and Production classes -- neither of which it falls.

The car will be fairly stock. All of the body panels will be in their original place. No set back. No wing. Possibly a small fin on the deck lit area for some down force. We are trying to keep it pretty clean and simple. Stock in apperance but with all of the under pinnings of a race car. Anything else you would need to know?

Engine displacement class is F. You are giving up 11.6% of the allowable displacement. (that's 2.67L, not 23.7, by the way.) Think about a stroker crank. If you're running alcohol, you're a fuel altered, or a classic fuel altered. Classic classes do not allow aftermarket EFI. Is yours mechanical or electronic? Altered allows covered grilles and rear spoilers, and you'd give up a lot of speed if you don't run same. On gas, if body is stock, you're a gas coupe.

We are still in the planning stages of the build. It should get started here in the next couple of weeks. All of the parts are in hand we just need to start working on it. I'll show some progress when the time comes! I'm sure I will have a ton more questions. I love the forum. Thanks for all of your help!!!

Looks like a Classic Gas coup  F/CGC and F/CFAlt on fuel. To me anyway.

Have you considered anything a little more aero?
If you haven't built the car yet, put it in a lakester, you can learn how to do one of those looking at any of the several builds going on in the build diaries.  Of course, I'm a lakster kind of guy so I would suggest one...

I'm inclined to ask the same question as Stainless - The Nova is a cool looking car, but it is a brick.  A mid '70's Monza would be a lot more slippery, as would a Vega - or maybe an Opel GT.  Are you absolutely set on the Nova?

While a lakester sounds great the nova was already bought and needed a plan. I'm not the one making the decisions. I'm just on the crew and doing some of the research.

I'm a lakester and a streamliner kinda guy my self. I've got an inline 6 powered bellytank project in the works at the moment.
