Troy,

Cannot help with recall but I do know I had mine on in an airplane and it was measuring speeds between 500 and 550, depending on the wind situation. Your Car camera would be able to tell you what is going on after the run.

Hey Bvillcr,

You want to know how fast they'll go?  You hanging with Andy Greene these days or what?  My guess is as long as you don't get a running or biking GPS that you'll be okay.

And, yes, you can download, at least with an Etrex, and read speed/time/date/elevation/course/etc./etc/etc. out on a spread sheet.

Troy,

Mine is a Garmin 760 I think. I use it for general purpose on trips etc. Great for locating restaurants and gas stations when out on the road. Never used it in the race car, but it has a big display so you could.

Charles:

The fuel truck is easy to find -- it's a gooseneck trailer/showroom and also a full-size chromed tanker truck.  That one shines in the sun.  Sorry -- I don't have a photo.

As for food -- the Red Flame is (usually) the food vendor on site.  They're very easy to find -- right next to the impound area, and look for the plume of good-smelling smoke.  Best part of all -- where else in the world can you sit under the awning while enjoying your meal and watch the fastest vehicles in the world go past under full power - while chatting with the best people in the world?  Some things are beyond price.

Right on SSS.  Tell me about the ambiance of the sun shade, a stack o' jacks, the early morning sun and the roar of the junkies.  Does NOT get any better.  Only bad news about the Red Flame is they shut off the dern jacks at about 10:30 and some of us Speedy Gonzales types can't get done with our record certs in time to munch.  Must be they used to work at Macs and just couldn't break the habit.
