hi willie and sheri,

great looking bike!  as always great work willie.  you are a master craftsman.  i got my crashed bike up and running, not pretty but runs great.  hope to see you in may.  my 750 build got put on the back burner temporally, too many other projects.

Tanks ready for paint. They're getting there little by little.  Eric wanted willie to extend the back of the tank   although he liked it the way it was  but its erics bike--willie hand formed the piece and welded it on the back of the tank---you be the judge

Eric's back up... Today they built some pipes for the bike...Willie calls them gone to hell pipes. They are a 3 step pipe. They go from 1 7/8 inch to 2 inch  to 2 1/8 inch.
Here are some pics.

John,

There is no rule in the SCTA rulebook for exhaust gas in the motorcycle class. However, there is a rule for exhaust outlets. It's 7.B.20 Exhaust   "All exhaust system outlets shall be directed away from rider, the rear tire and the course surface". The pics are kind of decieving.

A few years ago Bud Greenleaf got some major burns on his foot with a similar system at El Mirage.

That would have been the perfect opportunity to change the rule. On Eric's bike the pics are deceiving. Actually the exhaust is way outside his foot and his leg. I will take a better picture of it today with Eric on the bike and one of myself also.

Willie,

From my experience the heat from the exhaust will come in slightly and it can get very hot quickly... :-o

Better to just make it right now before the build is complete..

John

PS. I don't need a picture of you, I already know what you look like... :-D
