The nose section,...will be the class length maximum of 130”.

I think 130" is the max wheelbase in /MS
Haven't seen a maximum length rule, unless it is new.
I guess the answer is "a Secret" .

No maximum length. But, be careful before committing to "in-line" front wheels.

Unkl Ian:
Your correct, I intended to say 130" wheel base

I have been looking for an answer to the legality of inline front wheels, I cant find anything in the book pertaining to modified classes. Is there anyone that can give me a definitive answer to this pertaining to mod sports. I very well might be overlooking something but I dont want to go to the extent of building a front end like this and then not have it go.

So is there a minimum track spacing for mod sports and is inline wheels legal????

Thanks

I took the inference, from an earlier post, that a minimum tread width rule was coming.

Maybe I misunderstood.

I guess the answer is "a Secret" .

I'll try not to be evasive. Don't do it. The 2008 rulebook will be different than the 2007 rulebook.

Is that clear enough?

Like glass

Thanks DW

My crystal ball has been murky lately is there something possibly in the 08 regrading frontal tread width?

There is a MS running around that is really pretty slippery until you get to the roll cage that looks like a scaffold system for a 2nd floor addition.

Jack,
I'm gonna go out on limb and guess that you are referring the scaffold system on our Berkeley!  The first year the cage was lower and it was almost a press fit for both drivers.  Much better this year even though we are giving up a little free horsepower.

Dan,
Please don't set the minimum tread width to 35", or then we will have to turn it into a lakester with a scaffold system.

Body rules for MS are pretty specific , but it doesn't specify a minimum area for the drivers legs and feet.
Part of the result of the safety features that keep you within the protective envelope depend on some movement left for the operator and if you are already jammed to the limit, the next thing is break.
Stretch the foot well and have the driver sit down.
