Salt

Anyone been out to take a look at the salt? Weather checking it appears it may have gotten a little wet down there in the last few days.

It's wet but the wind and heat are still in the area. It's to early to make a call. many of us have seen it like this before and we still have the meet.

Thanks Glen, my only resource up this way is the net. I have some pretty good weather sites that update every hour and about this time of year I start checking three times a day or more holding my breath the whole time and hoping for good dry salt.

You are shoulder to shoulder with a lot of others and a 90 deg peek will show how long the line is.
The overhead shots when the sun is low in either direction show the glare off the standing water best.

My dad told me if I look down before taking any unknown steps in life that I would see the footprints of those that went before me, and if I look up... they may still be standing right in front of me.
Here's wishing we were there to see the prints and those leaving them :-(

This is funny!

It's like a bunch of drug addicts that are wayyyy too late for their next fix.
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

They are not available. to the general public and in principle are used for detailed engineering studies.
As a land use planner and engineer, My daughter (little Christine) subscribes to the service.
The weather patterns change so fast at Bonneville that you have to plan based on history and cross your fingers for the future.
The Salt WAS a lot more tolerant of moisture than it is now with a wider time frame to prepare it and a greater capacity to host an event even with areas of standing water.
Cross your fingers and trust it is in the best hands available.
It ain't gettn any easier.

I suggest that all racers just cancel you rooms for the weekend and stay home, the salt doesn't look good
I'll go out and look at it on the 10th and let y'all know if you should pack up and be there by Monday...

See ya on the salt  8-)

Rain, shine or clouds, we will be ready to go. If it doesn't work, it will later or at some point. This is not a short term goal.
