Newbie bringing bellytank car
« on: July 25, 2007, 02:11:36 PM »
Our first Speedweek. We are bringing our CEN-PEN bellytank car out just for display. Plan on camping at the bend in the road and are looking for tips. We will have a 24 ft trailer on a motorhome that is self contained. Don't intend on taking the car to the salt, but want to get ideas when we are there for years to come.
If we show up Sat evening will we be able to get spot??
Thanks for all your info-WORM

The Bend in the Road Camping Area, Ltd, is a couple of hundred acres in size -- and there are no reserved spots.  There is no chance whatever that it'll be so full that you can't find a spot.  Dinner is served Sunday night at/after 6* -- all other meals are whenever you want them.  There'll be four (count them, FOUR) porta-potties at the Bend in the Road this year.  Whoo-hoo, big time!

*Salt Talks is the annual land speed racer's social gathering, held Sunday evening of SpeedWeek.  It's a picnic with hot dogs, bratwurst, pasties, hot dogs and pop -- bring your own beer.

You guys are doing it the way smart way and it should be a lesson for others to come.
Be sure to share your experiences when it is over and that will generate more discussion and with it some additional knowledge that you won't get any other way.

Sorry, is that a new car?  As long as you are dragging it, you should have it inspected to clear any issues before you come to race.  It doesn't cost anything to run a car through inspection.

Is this the same bellytank painted black and green that has spent some time on eBay awhile back?
