1959 Indy car at Bonneville
« on: July 22, 2007, 03:02:31 PM »
I was taking a break from working on the bike when I traveled up to Larry Dietrichs place to check in on his Infinity E-GC car. When low and behold they had the original 1959 Indy 500 winning car in the shop which was driven by Roger Ward.. Totally restored and today was the day they were going to fire the engines for the first time. Running on 100% Methonal it fired within 5 seconds of hitting the starter and soo good. This car is powered by a 255 Inch Offy engine.

This car has a very good chance of going to Bonneville enroute to Monaray to run down there the following weekend. Larry and Mark plan on taking it in the same trailer to bonneville... They plan to run Sunday and Monday then leave for California.

They are also looking for someone in Salt Lake City who could store there Bonneville Infinity car for 10 days until they come back thru from racing in California.

Pictures of car tonight ill post.

I'll bet Jim Burkdall would store it for them, I hear they are looking for a new motor for a liner...
