Steering Damper
« on: June 27, 2007, 10:57:53 PM »
Anybody know where I can get a steering damper that will fit on a 1976 Honda cb750?  I'm guessing I won't find one specifically made for that bike, but if I can find one that fits I'll figure out a way to mount it.  Any advice would be appreciated.

from back in my AHRMA days.....

parts unlimited catalog sold a basic piston dampner in three (maybe 4) different lengths. I didn't even have to shim my steering stops!

a clamp was also available in all the popular 70's fork diameters

overall it was super easy to mount and sorta remember it was cheaper than a set of race tyres...you know, tires made by Avon  :-D

I would venture to guess that no radiators = easy universal install, while the presence of radiators require 'model specific' hardware

Buy a used Suzuki dampner from a GSXR etc. $20. on eBay.  Fill with 90W gear oil. Put the saved  $$ into performance. Works at 220 mph.

Cool, thanks for the help so far!  This gives me a lot better idea of what I should look for.
