Steve Moody's AMS shop flow tested injectors and most were bad. New injectors at Post Office to be picked up.

Closed today, They used to deliver parcels to my community mailbox which has large boxes for parcels but now I have to drive 20 miles to pick up.

Troy took gas tank out and cleaned it and fuel lines, a few particles but nothing filter would not have trapped although we had a 40-micron filter which we found out should be a 10-micron.

Some paint touch up were tank sits up and reinstall tank and new injectors next weekend.

fingers crossed that new injectors fix problem. If not single finger: laugh:

installed new injectors and filter. No start up? No spark, called our buddy Donny Cummins and Holly rep and he troubleshot Troy to get spark.

Fired up ran great but a little rich.

Ready for May El Mirage and will run A blown fuel altered instead of gas altered but still on gas.

  Record 258+

. . . is more better a little rich than it is a little lean.

Water in headers was found to be a small hole in exhaust ports due to porting. Added 3 bottles of Bars Leak engine sealant, problem solved.

We ran engine to get hot enough to set final valve lash running up to 3000+  and when checking computer read out driver side 20 to 23 AFR. Plugs looked fouled which is normal after idle so ordered new oxygen sensors.

Been having problems with white growth on the magnesium valve covers which in the past could be solved with WD40 but not anymore so their being powder coated. A little tough to do on mag.

Valve covers powder coated blue, sort of matches hose fittings. Left side oxygen sensor white, right-side black, sprayed with brake clean and seamed to help as air fuel ratios back to normal.

New sensors back ordered to April 24.

Well...El Mirage was up then down. We ran A blown fuel altered with gas with hopes of going over the 258+ record.
troy ran 246 on a conservative throttle for him. Looking at the data we figured shifting at 7000 rpm instead of 6800 would give 2 more Lbs of boost in high gear and more mph. 6800 in 3rd to 4th rpm drops to 5100 and a loss of 10lbs of boost So higher revs more boost and speed in 3rd'
Then the F ups began. Sun 2nd run Troy takes off but not running right, turn out and back to pits, forgot to take intake cover off !!  Change to warm up plugs and warm engine install race plugs. 3rd run Troy take off fairly good start but another turn out and back to the pits. Someone and I know who forgot to put plug wires on left bank  :?  Hey sounded pretty good at start up on 4 cyls :-P ,back to pits ,left side plugs like new [ never run ]  Right side fouled. Installed new plugs on right side.
4th run 195 mph trouble taking throttle. Time to pack up.

We failed inspection because of seat belts out of date [ thought we had another year] but another racer had a new set  We also had, our Fire bottles inspected by Mike Kilger and FIRE FOX in the pits.

Mike Spaceck (spl) and SCTA Inspectors, what a great bunch of guys they came to our pits twice in the dark to check our seat belt install and give us the final inspection sign off

Sunday night I was fast forwarding the Sunday video, and when I saw your car in the staging lanes I waited to see your run. While watching I noticed what looked like a Moroso plug in the air intake? Then I said to myself I must be mistaken. When Troy turned out I thought maybe I did see a plug in the intake. Thanks for the clarification. Sorry it happened.
