1941 Knucklehead
« on: June 05, 2007, 10:32:09 PM »
I have a friend up this way who has a 1941 Harley Motorcycle. One of the heads has a burned valve and needs work. Does anyone out there know of someone who can repair an old knucklehead? We are located in the Pacific Northwest.
Thanks for any info,
Dave Haller #93 A/FL

If Cliff Lamb is still up in Monroe, WA, he's got quite a reputation for salvaging/restoring old H-D race motors.  A knucklehead should be a piece of cake.  Ask your local antique club how to find him.
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice.  But in practice, there is.--Jan L. A. Van de Snepscheut

Does he want someone to work on the bike complete - or ship out the head?

If he's shipping parts, try Mike Crowther at Engine Dynamics - 707-763-7519.  They do a lot of repair work on older bikes.  Impressive work!

Mike Rich, our engine builder, does Moto Guzzi heads for a living.  I've seen some of the junk that he's rebuilt, and he's probably capable of doing your '41 HD, too.  570 676 4785  He's in eastern Pennsylvania.

Dave, Marlo's friend, Dick Elverude in Hillsboro, Oregon can probably do it. He's about the closest person that has been mentioned so far.
Marlo is leaving for the lakes Thursday AM. If you wait until Monday, he will be back and you can get Dicks number from him.
