I've raced motorcycles on hillclimbs, roadrace and a lot of dirt track for over thirty years. Simple rules work. Aero is a hugely complex issue and you really need to experience the course in all its glory before you start worrying about streamlining the front wheel. I would just strip it clean. No brakes or protrusions with plenty of cross flow. Make a dozen runs and see how fast you are. Hopefully by the end of the week you won't have used up your motor and you can try adding stuff. Be slow to change as the ambulance runs really hold up the running. Aaron Wilson goes damn fast with his setup and there isn't a nicer guy around. Plenty of pictures of his bike at NRHSperforamnce web site.
To go fast first you have to find out where you're at, find someone faster to observe and ask questions. Lots of helpful people around here. Bad advice on a LSR motorcycle can get you killed and no one here wants that. Last point, the records seem like the whole point but the best part is the people and the runs down the salt. Enjoy the running, records will come.
