Ok I have to admit I've never torqued my nuts, at least the ones on one of my vehicles, in my whole life.  Am I a bad person??

I always torque my nuts..

Actually all fasteners that are tightened are "torqued".  What we're talking about is using a device that tells us that the torque is correct for the application we are working on.

Beware of the fasteners that are marked ready to install and "pre-tightened by experts in Bangladesh"  :-o :-D

Also, not all fasteners should be treated to the "75% -80% of tensile load" bruised rule-of-thumb. :? :lol:

 :? How "tight" is tight? Just to the breaking point then back off one flat...and if it strips out, don't tighten it that time next time. :roll:
