I'm thinking of an older style, SWB streamiliner. Maybe something like the old Cooper or MG bonneville streamliners:

I'd like to start working on a car in the winter, and give myself a year and a half, so that would mean '09.

I can start work on an engine anytime, and have started collecting bits & pieces.

My thought is to build two engines. The first would be a "mule" to try different configurations and tuning, making use of used parts. I can run a "mule" engine in one of my street cars.
Then when I have a good setup, I'll build a second one with more careful machining & balancing.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice.  But in practice, there is.--Jan L. A. Van de Snepscheut
