Here is one made for Battery and Magneto, which would be different from one that shuts down an alternator.

Magneto & Battery Saftey Kill Switch
From Flaming River Industries

Dual circuit switch simultaneously shuts down both the battery and magneto. Waterproof spring-loaded design with silver plated brass contacts. Rated at 250 amps continuous service, 2,500 amps for 5 second surges. Accepted for NHRA/IHRA competition use. Furnished with an easy-grip T-handle, and anodized aluminum mounting bracket.

Most of them understood the concept. the research of the available hardware, and recommended locations.
It gets better and better.
Someday the practice will catch up with the collective smarts.
Rules are kinda that way sorta.
That is value added.

So if you have been crazy enough to read through 6 pages of this drivel -  heres what I did!
1.  Put this unit
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10002_72888_-1

On the rear 1/4 panel through the antenna hole.

It not only shuts off the battery -  it shuts down the car.  it's hooked trough the inside panel into the battery box mounted inside the car - a run of less than 14 inches of hot cable.
Then I cut in a second switch right into the battery cable running to the engine compartment accessable to the driver when he is strapped in -  by the parachute and fire system -  that way the driver can get it whenever!

Both switches turn off the car -  and cut the current flow!

total cost for the 2 safety cutoff switches -  36 bucks -  free shipping from jegs

does that meet your approval Jack?

I am glad you figured it out through all the 'Drivelers" ,whose only concern is for your safety.
They should be pleased.
