The hot stuff the magazine tested was Blendzall Gold Label.
It was caster based with Nitro added.

Yes, and boy, does it work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is also a 2 stroke oil out there (or was)
made for model airplane engines with Nitro.....I think it was called Franciscan out of Glendale Ca.
Ah, Yes history......we ran our Harley 125c.c. at dirt-track races, using this oil........with a Glow-plug from a model airplane engine......worked great, you had to push start the bike to make sure the engine was running in the right direction......or you started off the line backwards....lots of fun!!!!!!!!!!

Francisco Racing Fuels

One night at Ascot the AMA dude announced before the race that he was tired of the cheating with the fuel and that night he would be checking.
A famous bike racer we know made a scene out of dumping the gas out of his tank and put in the fuel.
Our hero won the race and the AMA dude took great satisfaction in the belief he caught somebody without even checking.

Ah yes, Francisco Racing Fuels. Located in the Atwater district of South Glendale.

Stopped on the way to the kart races on Saturday afternoons for a gallon of Moon gas. There were two large Great Danes in the lobby. They would lay their size XX heads on top of the four foot counter without their feet leaving the ground.

Howdy,

I remember when "Moon Gas" was about 5% - 6% of nitropropane in pump gas.

I also remember a long time ago when kart racing got so hazy on "legal" fuel and perceived cheating that when you got to the track that everyone had to dump your fuel in a common barrel and that was the race fuel for the day/evening. That was pretty easy if you dumped a pretty strong load of oxygen bearing chemicals into the barrel, most everybody wasn't ready for the drastic change in jetting. I was. Didn't take them long to nix that deal.

Hope that everyone has a super weekend! :-D

I spent many good hours at Francisco learning about fuel while I was playing with the Great Danes. I learned more from old lady Francisco than I did from him!! My dad sold karts and I made sure I was available to make a fuel run!
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.
