ZX14`s Speed

a little birdie told me that there is a number of zx14`s planing to run at our 07 speedweek (dlra, gairdner),,,, what sort of speeds did the 14`s  run at bonneville last year ???

not sure, but brock davidsons OEM internal motor ran 200 and change at maxton this past fall. same bike has been in the 8's.

As I remember, another 14R ran right close to 2 bills (I think it was 196++) at Maxton earlier in the fall, too.  Supposedly had a tuneup and a pipe and not a whole heck of a lot more, they told us.

FWIW, Falkner Livingston ran set the 1650 P/P record last year on a ZX14,  191.802

It doesn't look like it would be any fun to put a turbo on it, that frame is a bitch! :wink:

yeah, the frames are a problem, not only are thay a mongral to work on, it is impossible to get your upper body in a good tuck behind the screen, an inhereded problem from the 12`s,,, 191 yasay,  going to be interseting to see what thay do on aussie salt  8-)

What is your track altitude down there in Aussieland? That makes a big difference with speed attempts. And when is your speedweek?

g`day mate, i am not sure of the lakes allitude, but it would be no more than 100`, if that,,,  our speedweek this year runs from march 5th to 9th,, and the weather at this time of year can be very hot and obresive, there are reports that the temperature has been 40+, and as you know these conditions are not condusive to high performance, however a few tuning adjustments can mitigate that a little, also running first up in the morning when the temperature and air is better will also help,,,,
