Yes, this thread is off topic but, with missiles flying due to spell check it is a good thing that America has Jack Bauer on our side.

GLEN:  17 below zeroevery night last weekend, and down to zero every night since.  This morning it was, as usual, zero at the house -- but skies were clear and we had a dusting of snow overnight.  I arrived at the office -- snowing like a bugger and about 10" of snow.  I think I'll go ride around in the Oshkosh.  It has no roll cage.

There -- see?  I CAN stay on-topic.

PS  Dan, who's Jack Bauer?

Jack Bauer, a True American. He works for CTU, Counter Terrorism Unit, based in Los Amgeles. He only works 24 hours a year, all in one day. His contributions to our country are documented each Monday evening on the Fox Network, see local listings.

Ah, thanks.  Fox Network is not available at our house (neither is any other channel, for that matter).  No wonder I've not heard of him.

But -- if he only works one day a year, why does the tv station talk about him every week?  Doesn't it get a little repetitive by the end of the year?

Oh, wait -- you said Fox Network.  I've heard about them. . .

The 24 hour joke is still on Jon.
Except the State of Colorado makes me have a roll bar on our Oshkosh by gosh.

Carl, see how these guys made my point?
You will love this sport and the people you meet, once you get used to them....

All this time I thought a comma was a period that already had safety wire.

now he is a comma commie, snow plow operator and a destroyer of documents. Slim can stand toes to toes with you and look over you head. He also will step on your toes and slap you around like a punching bag.
I think I will sell tickets for this at the bend in the road at speed week.
He uses the ELF to clean the underside of his truck after the salt has stuck. :-o :-D

Slim, Are you "too far north" for direct TV? I was at Wurtsmith AFB in the early 70's and we had a TV station, just one, but we live modern times now.

Glen--

Slim is Seldom smarter than he looks(?).

He cleans his truck off by removing all the decals and sticker when he gets home.  It's all like a giant plastic wrap and he replaces each year before SpeedWeek.

Please refrain from making any derogatory remarkes about the "good guy" AKA "Slim"...I would not him upset. My reasons are personal however since all of you need his expertise in "johnny" location and I do not want the job back..........................J.D. :-D

Hey Slim,

Sorry I made the small attempt @ humor about the "comma" thing. Well it has given you something to read.

Dan really got us off the track with the "24/Jack Bauer" reference. Great show but he does his punctuation with 9 millimeters.

Many folks up here have television sets.  Some get the signal off the air (3 channels), some from dishes, and some from cable.  There must be Direct TV reception up here -- I see their ads in the paper asking for workers to install the things. . .

I gave up watching tv about twenty years ago.  Since then I've discovered that the guys in white hats and the guys in black hats still shoot at each other, the sun still comes up in the morning, and the weather will happen -- whether I pay attention to the forecast or not.  I'd say more, but I've got to go to the gym and keep trying to get in shape to move the porta-potties around so you can all rest in peace next summer.  Thanks for the support, JD.

Slim, just try to remember that the t.p. rolls should be placed to roll from the top, not the bottom.................
