A Fantastic Lady Passes
« on: February 16, 2024, 12:47:47 PM »
It's with a heavy heart that I write a dear family friend Judy Thompson Creech, mother of Danny Thompson, has passed away at the age of 94 in January. She was a wonderful and caring person. You might have seen her during her last visit to the salt in 2018 when Danny entered the 400 MPH Chapter of the 200 MPH Club where his was already a member. She was there for each of his runs riding in the push truck.
A service in her memory will be held in Huntington Beach Ca. where she lived on March 2nd.

Judy had a stroke the week before 2018 Speedweek and couldn't walk but wasn't going to let that stop her from seeing Danny's record run .

I have now idea what Danny told Judy....who I'm...

whenever I was at Danny's place during his attempts...and she was around...she directly came up to me to say hello and to chat with me for while....

she was such a great person...and she was actually for her age "fit"...you would never had thought that she is close to 90....

She was a big part in Danny's attempt, to show that his dad Mickey had the right idea in 1968....

Danny, my heart is with you and your family....I can imagine, that it's tough for you to loosing her....

I will miss her too....RIP little Lady

Sad news. I only know her through what I've read. According to the "Challenger" book, she was 100% with Mickey in his quests. It's great that she witnessed Danny's success.

I was just thinking about her a couple of days ago and when I first met her at a Pomona roadster show a few years back!
After we talked I felt like I had known her my whole life! A genuinely nice lady!
Condolences to Danny and all that ever met her!
