BUB 7 motorcycle streamliner 2024
« on: January 18, 2024, 12:35:46 PM »
Saw this on FB, Chris Rivas will now pilot the BUB 7. I hope the best for the team and I hope the Ack Attack team is energized by the competition in the race to 4 bills. -Dean

If I correctly interpret information on the bubbooks web site (https://www.bubbooks.net/the-pilot), there was a plan for Chris Rivas to attempt the record at the 2023 BMST, and that has moved to 2024.

There is no mention of the upcoming DLRA Speed Week (March 2024).

Personal view from a know-not-very-much: it seems extremely unlikely that the BSF will be suitable for running a motorcycle streamliner at approaching 400mph any time soon.

Thanks for posting the Bub site, cool stuff there. I looked up the BUB7 Wiki page, and read some old media from 2006-2010. There are quotes from Manning listing 500hp, which seems conservative for a blown methanol 3 liter V4. Maybe that's all it takes to go 372 with that body.

An awesome opportunity for Chris Rivas !
Let's all hope for great salt conditions.
Have the dates been posted for BMST 2024 ?

That article also states 400 ft/lb at 8500 ... which is about 650 HP.

Yep, I was thinking 500 sounded like oral sandbagging meant for the Ack Attack team.  I guess we will see how much HP is available (and how much the track can take) at BMST.

i would suggest, given present salt conditions at Bonneville, the BUB would be licencing and bringing Chris up to speed at BMST,, with an eye on hard smooth salt and almost an unlimited track length at Gairdner in 25  :-)
First Australian to ride a motorcycle over 200mph at Bonneville,,,
