Venue options
« on: August 29, 2023, 05:47:15 PM »
Hey all,

obviously bummed out like everyone regarding the salt conditions.

I was watching some Carbiliner videos and remembered when they ran at "Area 52" in the desert.  Could this sort of thing ever be an option for an event?

I know nothing about BLM permitting and obviously hope the salt conditions allow for events in the future.

Just curious if anyone had thought of this.

Thanks,

Woz

"Area 52" is in Nevada (of course) but it is a privately-owned playa with a few miles of "dry lake" course possibilities. I'll try to attach a video showing what it looks like.

The allowed file size here is only 500k so I put it on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/MW94SGS9iJk

ive spent a lot of years dirt bike riding in that area -- spring time is best -- long dusty drive in , services a ways away , its not salt . but  alkali & dirt ,when its dry its like talcum powder . theres a couple other dry lakes in central nevada that are used -- wind sailers -- that have very hard surfaces , but at most 5 miles end to end . great for testing my way slower liner . and great dirt bike riding in the surrounding mountains
