We had our fingers crossed hoping to finally get a chance to run. Super disappointed but appreciate the candid assessment and judgement

Not what we wanted to hear but thank you to the USFRA for showing integrity in protecting the racers and the salt.

Well another year of waiting. Another year of thinking about Bonneville every day. Of course let a lot of things go till the last minute. Now I have a whole year to prepare.
No trailer ran 135mph at the World of Speed 2011 see you in 2012 in Ohio and back at Bonneville at the world of speed going for the 150club 1979 Firebird T/A White . Ck out YOU TUBE. KERRY AT BONNEVILLE. Didn't  make 2012,2013,2014. ECTA in Ohio 2012 trans went out and 2013 fuel problems . Still trans and fuel problems. Finally all looks good. Ready to drive (no trailer) 1500 miles to Bonneville and It's cancelled. NEXT YEAR. SEPT. ECTA RAN 144 MPH. GETTING BETTER. 2021 Ran 152 fulfilled a ten year dream to make the 150 club.

That's sad to hear but obviously the right decision. It's only taken me 14yrs to build this liner, what's one more before I get to run it!

Glad I made the decision to stay and run at Speedweek.  Bummer for those that haven't run this year.  Fingers crossed for WF

Hang in there Sid.   Keep on it and make sure it's ready for when the salt conditions are right.
Sproing, crack, ouch!

Damn.  I was just east of the salt out at the Knolls 200 desert race.
Conditions were good on the mudflats.  Was hopeful for WOS.

Well we missed 2 WoS in a row....
I know we've seen this before, but it just popped up as next when I watched a utube someone sent me to see.
So we all need a little salt fix and some nostalgia... 3rd World of Speed 1989
OK, this is before they combined the record book, WoS was a 100 car invitation only meet for vehicles capable of 200MPH and up... plus a few odd ducks... like us... it only took us 23 more years to get the Bockscar running in I/GL over 200.  We were running in the 190's in 1989, but we got invited because they thought we might make 200 with the extra mile.
The track was 11 miles, with the mile and kilo in the middle. Records run both directions.... enjoy

Great video, so much history at one meet, thx for posting. Can you imagine ESPN showing up at Speed Week?

Two things . . .

Watching Al run, looked down and the goosebumps were still there.

I feel sorry for the BLM guy -- He surely ended his career with that report.

Very few of the cars on the video still exist...or maybe I should say are still racing....

That was a fun time...
