This streamliner is currently the fastest gasoline powered streamliner in the SCTA record book. The streamliner was originally built in 1995 by Jack Costella and set countless records and various classes from flat heads to turbo four cylinders. In 2008 Rick Yacoucci became the driver of the streamliner. The streamliner has also set countless records at the El Mirage dry lake bed also under SCTA sanction including the blistering record of 284.732 miles an hour in class E/BGS on the standing start 1.3 mile dirt course.
In August 2018, the car set a record of 384.657 miles an hour in E/BGS
20 lbs. of boost the first run and 22lbs. on the second run
In October 2018 the streamliner qualified at 398.227 miles an hour with an exit speed of 409.421 miles an hour on 24 lbs. of boost, while the car was in impound, waiting to back up the record the next day there was a rain storm, and the salt flats were flooded, the SCTA canceled the meet.
All of the record speeds in those classes are lower than the E record. In 2016 to 2017 we built a completely new chassis and redesigned many of the components in the car, including the front steering, engine cooling system ,intercooler cooling system, transaxle, and complete electrical system. The streamliner has been developed to the point where it is very easy to drive. And should go faster with the current engine. We have run a maximum of 24 pounds of boost, and the engine should be safe for 28 to 30 pounds of boost on C16 racing gas. The streamliner has been sitting for two years in a climate controlled shop, it will need new safety harnesses, parachutes and a new seat poured to fit the new driver. The drivers compartment is very tight, so if you are claustrophobic, you?ll have to get over it like I did. The streamliner is 28' long, 27" wide at its widest point and sits 1" off the ground so the streamliner comes with a specialized trailer to hoist it up off the ground and transport.
If going 400 miles, an hour is not your thing this streamliner is super efficient and can set records in virtually any class you build an engine for. For example, we installed a really bad ass, unblown ford flathead on alcohol and set a record at 280 miles an hour.
The seller is willing to coach the new owner with the operation of the streamliner.
Partial trades will be considered.
