With any vehicle, the more stuff sticking out of it is going to create more drag so roadsters become a packaging challenge. A Bantam has clean lines but a whole bunch of engine doesn't fit inside one.
The 34 grill has a good leading center bar shape with the best transition into the hood & pretty clean flowing lines all the way down the body. The ducktail shape at the back of the model 40 body has to be better than the other roadsters that have square sharp edges but the biggest advantage I see is the upswept transition from the floor that is basically a diffuser minus the strakes. Having said that, it won't be worth a hill of beans if there isn't a flat floor in front of it! So many Bonneville cars (not just roadsters) neglect the floor like it's out of sight out of mind with all sorts of crap hanging down there like headers, oil pans & transmissions. It's like oil rigs, (cage's) some of them get up there!
It would be interesting to see some scientific data without all the protrusions that get hung on.
