Thank you.   I thought that the winter doldrums could be replaced with some racing history from Loring.   I was the original motorcycle tech and sometime later I became the director of competition. I have attended every event and I have a lot of photos that I will post with a brief comment.

2022 Maine Event.  In the staging area we see Fred Giamo and Nancy.  He is the rider on the "American Machine and Tool" Team 9819.  Fred has enjoyed a lot of success.  At the Maine Event in 2018 he set the record for P/P-3000/4 at a speed of 218.905 mph in the mile and a half.  TDaly photo.

Lane Wiggers got the AA/GC (Unlimited / Gas Coupe) at 202.277 mph. Todd Wooden got the A/GC (8 liter / Gas Coupe) at 203.910 mph.  Kevin Shippen was the 3rd driver and he ran a very respectable 178.659 mph.  Tom Shay photo.

 Joe
Thanks for getting the juices flowing and July will be here soon, hope the Harvest Event gets good support, it certainly deservers it.
A big thank you to Team Urgently, i was really struggling, having moved into the EFI world. They took time out from their car to get me going, still have a steep learning curve ahead of me, but they saved the day.
All the best
Ed

2021 Harvest Event. In the hot box we see Ohio's favorite son, Rick Prosser in the RPM Land Speed Team  former NASCAR Chevrolet Impala SS 9972. He was able to set the record for B/BGCT (7 Liter / Blown Gas Circle Track) at a speed of 237.663 mph. Rick made it into the 200 MPH Club with that record speed and was also received the Delaware Chassis Works Kestel Weather Station for fastest car.

2009 Inaugural Maine Event. At speed with see Phil Campbell on his Suzuki Hayabusa.  He was the very first racer inducted into the LTA 200 MPH Club. Phil set the record for APS/BG-3000/4 (Altered Partial Streamlined / Blown Gas - 3000 cc / 4 stroke) at a speed of 222.359 mph.  He bumped it at the 2010 Maine Event to 235.515 mph.  Outstanding land speed racer and all around good guy.

Maine Event 2016. In the pits we see the beautiful 1955 Mercedes Benz 300SL coupe of RGS Motorsports.  Owned and driven by Bob Sirna.  He has campaigned this car in land speed racing since 2001.  Bob finally pulled the Mercedes engine and installed a Roush  Racing built Mercury 3 liter heavily worked straight 6.  At Loring Bob established the record for F/GT (3 Liter / Grand Touring) at 185.974 mph. Then he jumped up an engine class  one liter to E/GT and set that record at 190.894 mph.

I'm sure Paul will never forget that ----- "Next vehicle on the course is -----L422" 40 times!

I was there trying to match Heyder's 250 2-stroke water cooled motocrosser with my 1968 Bridgestone air cooled rotary valved classic in the 350 2-stroke class, and was quite pleased to surpass his record with a 113.003 mph record.
