2021 Harvest Event. In the hot box belting in before going to the starting line we see Team FJ Racing number 343. Driven by Frank John and assisted by Sherry John to a record speed of 155.445 mph in class AZ/EL (Electric Lakester).Originally built by one of LTA founders Bob Wanner, it was converted to electric by Frank. Bob is a retired FDNY Firefighter and numbered the lakester to honor the 343 firefighters that lost their lives at World Trade Center on 9/11. Aside from being Chief Timer Frank also holds a number of electric car and bike records. The most remarkable is 204.575 mph on an electric motorcycle. Stacy Robey photo.

2021 Maine Event.  In the pits we see Team B C Woods Racing number 804.  I believe this is a 36 Chevrolet coupe.  Driven by B C Woods in 2018 to one mile record of 118.936 mph in class XO/VGC (Overhead valve inline /Vintage Gas Coupe). A lot of work went into this restoration.  These cars had wood framed doors. Really challenging to get them into this condition.

2021 Maine Event. In the pits we see team "It's All Rick's Fault Racing" number 8365 Corvair. Driven by Greg Lloyd to a record speed of 153.448 mph in class F/CPRO (3 Liter/Classic Production) in 2019. This beautiful late 1960-s Gen 2 Chevy Corvair originally came with a rear engine 2.7 liter air cooled flat 6 cylinder. Amazing performance from what was designed by GM as an economy car.

So in addition to the displacement change, looks to be Production blown (E/CPS). Of course there were turbo'd Corvairs but the displacement? Does LTA allow running up a class like ECTA?

2017 Maine Event.  In staging, next to go to the starting line we see Team Allen Racing's number 9474 Yamaha. Ridden by Wendell Allen to a record speed of 135.831 mph in class MPS/G500 (Modified Partial Streamline/Gas-500cc).  Really good aero produced an outstanding top speed. Anyone have any information on what model this fast 500 is?  My guess from the wheels is that it is an XS500.  Stacy Robey photo.
