Maine Barons with Sam Samson's Coupe at Loring. Look at the collection of inspection stickers. Any more and there is no forward view. Stacy Robey photo

Sadly She Bad is no more lost in a bad fire at the shop where the coupe was stored few years ago. Back in 2009 I believe at Speedweek the dream of getting her to hitting 200 MPH was realized.

Working in the shop I use the 'F' word a lot. No not that word these words Focus and Finish go Fast and Flathead Ford!

2021 Harvest Event. At speed on the Loring course we see Jason White in the team "Tragedy to Triumph" Corvette. He took the C6 to get it sorted out for a 200 + mph run scheduled for spring 2022 by Dan Parker. Jason holds the LTA record for cars driving his C6 Team Rec Mech Motorsports at 269.273 mph set in September 2019. Dan Parker lost his sight in a drag racing accident and was determined to break the blind driver land speed record established in the Guinness Record Book. The Corvette has a guidance system that communicates to the driver for course correction. It was developed for aero space and adapted to the car. Jason generously agreed to prepare the car and sit in the passengers seat in the event of a guidance system failure. LTA provided the certified timing equipment and recorded the speeds at the New Mexico Spaceport America track. Dan drove the car to a speed of 211.043 mph on March 31st, 2022. Exactly 10 years to the day from the accident that caused his blindness. This easily broke the previous record of 200.9 mph set in 2014 by England?s Mike Newman. The Guinness Record book representative was on hand to witness the event and presented Dan with the certification of the record. Tom Shay photo.

2022 Maine Event.  At speed we see the Team Hass-Serafini much modified Suzuki Hayabusa number 9625.  Ridden by Scott Horner.  He is a member of 7 different 200 MPH Clubs. Scott has set quite a number of records on unstreamlined "naked" motorcycles. At the  2011 Maine Event he set the M/BG-3001+/4 (Modified / Blown Gas - 3001+ cc / 4 stroke) at 246.334 mph riding Mark Gordon's turbo Hayabusa. Scott is the owner of HeadUp Performance in Sandy, Utah where he builds performance motorcycles. Tom Shay photo.

2019 Harvest Event.  At the starting line we see the Team RecMech Motorsports number 9288 C6 Corvette.  Jason White drove the big bad black Corvette to a record of 269.673 mph entered in B/BFMS ( 7 Liter / Blown Fuel Modified Sports ).  This is the fastest speed for a car ever at Loring.  He also won the Shootout Award for Top Speed 2019. Jason had to reinforce the front structure of the car with steel bracing. When he went over 250 mph the  air pressure forced the fenders against the front tires. Stacy Robey photo.

Paul - My mistake.  Let's see;  5 = D / 4 = E / 3 = F / 2 = G /.
