Monte Warnock passed away on Monday. He was a member of the Callaway racing group, and helped at the starting line at Bonneville.

If you didn't know Monte, I'm sorry. If you knew Monte, you are fortunate.
He was as nice as he was gruff. Helpful and encouraging. Always willing to lend a hand.
Every time I pull the Impound trailer onto the lakebed, I thank Monte and the CRG for giving me a place to work and hide from the elements.
He is an LSR icon and will be missed greatly.
Godspeed Monte.

i knew Monte for a long time and he was a friend. I always looked forward to seeing him. He must have set 10,000 cones out at Bonneville over the years plus all he did at El Mirage. I will miss him.
