How to be a spectator at the September event?
« on: August 22, 2022, 05:55:05 AM »
I am planning on making my first visit to El Mirage for the September event. What are the rules / guidelines for being a spectator?  Are spectators allowed?   Not only do I want to spectate, but, I am hoping to gain insight into how to participate in future events.  Thank you.

The charge will simply be the access fee you pay when you arrive, and yes, spectators are welcomed.

Things will be marked off as to where you can and can't go. If in doubt, just ask. Be respectful, and it will be reciprocated.

I flew out in '93 to my first LSR event at El Mirage - it changed my life. I built a car, raced at Maxton and Bonneville, held a Bonneville record for 7 years, visited El Mirage twice since, including this last May, and have made some of the closest friendships I've ever known.

Keep an eye on SCTA's facebook page, though - you'll want to confirm that the event is on.

Welcome aboard!

Spectating at el mirage is simiar to Bonneville but on a much smaller scale.

The race day is Sunday, Be on the lake bed and the starting line by 7am if you want to watch the drivers meeting. Thye will try and let car run between 7.30 and 8am.

Don't try and come out around noon as the event could be over by then.
