You might want to call Mike Strasburg at B&J, he makes his own version with a 2.0 gear & the family has been racing Bonneville for years. 801-796-1707

Tell me more about the B&J version, does it use a standard case 10" or their own, does it use standard quick charge ratio gears?

Sorry I can't help you with the details on them Mate. I have two 10 bolt-ish units in my liner but Mike designed & built my custom direct drive/overdrive units that I have at each end. Their stuff is top notch & he is very helpful.
