WTB 15 x 5" wheels
« on: May 31, 2022, 04:59:37 PM »
Looking for 15 x 5" wheels, 5x5 pattern for 5/8" studs (taper for 45 deg nuts), at most 2" backspacing but prefer 1", prefer set up with tabs for mooneyes. I called around a few places and not having much luck. Wheelsmith says the 5" hoops are on backorder and he doesn't know when he can get them in. I had my last two pair made by Marsh and then Mike Cook, and both of those are not options anymore unfortunately. Other brands are not being exactly racer friendly to those of us wanting the skinny stuff.
I do have a pair from Marsh but they are set up with neutral offset and that just puts me too far inboard.  Any leads would be helpful. Thanks!

I'm using 15" Bassett wheels but I don't know how narrow they offer. Otherwise, they are SCTA legal.

Call Chariot Wheels in Fontana, California.

(I know they've made wheels for other, more-known manufacturers.)

Are you looking for four wheels? I have four 15" wheels with street tires- prior lakester owner used them during transport and storage. They are probably 5", but I'll need to measure them- also check that they are 5 x 5. They have tabs for wheel discs, but I don't think they have the welding required for race use. As for offset- should I measure from the mounting surface to the inboard rim?

Thanks all! It looks like I found a pair. If it falls through I'll be back...

FYI Diamond did come through on the wheels. They said 2-3 weeks and it turned out to be 6, but at least they look great and the price was very reasonable.
