motorcycle guys question
« on: December 10, 2006, 12:35:24 AM »
I was wondering if any of you guys bring a backup engine. I could live without the expense of building two engines but considering how infrequently there are meets I would hate to pop an engine and then sit around all week. What do most of you guys do.

We used to bring another engine, even changed it at the salt and ran. But we used to do a lot of other things also. Now we've decided that if we break, we get a chance to spectate and enjoy meeting with others that we don't really have time for when we are competing. Besides, this is for fun right and we are not as young and energetic as we used to be. Also, in 26 years, we've only lost two engines. Attempting to do the right things in the shop will pay big dividends. Everyone has to decide what they are going to accept as risk for their own team. As has been said before "Australia is a long way to go to break parts".
