April 2022 event Blythville
« on: January 24, 2022, 07:05:46 AM »
The ECTA web site shows this event, and registration looks possible. Given what happened to the October event, I need to ask, how are Steve and CJ, who got covid last fall? Are they fully recovered? What are the odds the April event happens?

Thanks,
Mike

I don't know Mike, you might try the ECTA FB page, or just email them and ask how they are doing. I've never been to the Arkansas track. Good luck, Dean

I used to text CJ occasionally to check on her and Steve, didn?t bother about IF or not then she quit responding. Then I received an Email from Steve announcing the April event. I have some questions about if there will be defined classes this year, there wasn?t in fall two years ago, I had also paid my registration fee for last falls event and wanted to know if I would owe any more to run the longer distance? I have emailed both Steve right after he notified us of this April event and after a few weeks and no answer I emailed CJ and to date no answer, I am old and in failing health and this was going to be my past Hoorah and really looking forward to it especially in a faster car.

Good Track and good event, had to be shut down several times for a military plane coming in but no
major problem.

Hi Mike

Tech typically opens between 12pm and 1pm on Thursday, registration opens a little earlier normally.

Garrell, would be good to see you there again - I took the photos of you in the Crown Vic last time you were there. Steve and CJ are OK now, but Steve was in hospital for almost 3 months I think.

Like this one!:

If you registered for October before a certain date (around JUly 4th from memory) you could run the 2km for the same price as the mile. If you registered after then there is an extra cost to do so.

How reliable are the forecasts? Predicting 10-25 mph headwinds all 3 days.

Projected forecast in the entire area certainly looks dangerous at times. Typical for an airport location wind creates lift great for take offs.

Yep there's a reason runways are laid out to usually have a headwind... one direction or the other... As I remember Blytheville is North/South +/- a degree or 2.

If running north to south is into a headwind then let's run from South to North.
