Wally Bethune
« on: November 30, 2021, 10:22:54 PM »
I took this off the WGB page on FB. From Mike Manghelli...
I am sad to announce that the White Goose Bar has lost a great friend, Wally Bethune passed away on November 24, 2021, after losing his battle with cancer. Wally drove the Kelly and Hall 664 Lakester at El Mirage this past May setting the E/GL record at 227.281 MPH. This gained him entrance into the El Mirage 200 MPH Club. Wally will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.

I didn't know Wally or his health situation, but I was looking at some of the details of the lakester he got a record in and I can assure you  he was one happy guy. He was just beaming with joy while posing for photos. My first trip to El Mirage and so many cool memories. I'm so glad Wally got a large part of his bucket filled that day :clap

All of us at the White Goose Bar were ecstatic when Wally got his hat. He was a good friend and I'll sure miss him.
